Dr. Toni Cincotta (Mrs. C)
Reading & Writing Specialist
Mrs. C. holds a Ph.D. from Walden University online with a concentration in Curriculum and Development and is a graduate of U.C. Berkeley with a Master of Science in Linguistics. She is licensed as a Reading Specialist in Orton Gillingham and is a credentialed teacher with certifications in early childhood, elementary and special education. Being an educator of young people from preschool through college, both online, and in brick-and-mortar classrooms, her decades of teaching experience allow her to offer a vast background in subjects ranging from basic English skills to advanced writing, history, geography, science and in-depth Language Arts study. Her commitment to children has spanned over the last 41 years and she retains multiple long-term relationships with many of her students. She focuses on providing positive, interactive, engaging instruction so that all children are active participants in the learning process By creating individualized educational plans that meet each student’s needs, every child can successfully develop critical thinking skills that establish pathways for connecting learning and the world.

Dr. James trained in medical chemistry and new drugs at the University of Arizona. He studied philosophy of science and linguistics in graduate school. His teaching style emphasizes working examples and asking students questions to test understanding.

I am an educator, mentor, coach, and would enjoy the opportunity to partner with your family in your child's academic journey. As a retired US Air Force officer, former high school math & PLTW Engineering teacher, and college mathematics professor, my perspective is wide and my math & engineering experience run deep with subject matter proficiency in Algebra (all levels), Trigonometry, Precalculus, Calculus (AB, BC, and undergraduate), Multivariable Calculus, Differential Equations, Linear Algebra, and Discrete Mathematics. Additionally, I enjoy college admissions mentoring, study skills/academic coaching, and early career discernment conversations. My goal is always to help students become more confident in their academics while also developing skills to become confident and fulfilled “CEOs” of their own lives. We explore using a simple and fundamental style that encourages students to get excited and curious as they continue to grow as adolescents and young adults. I cultivate my own intellectual curiosity through reading non-fiction, including biographies, history of the American West (including the Great Plains), and philosophies about healing anxiety through mindful presence as well as practicing yoga and listening to a select set of insightful podcasts. My wife, son and I enjoy mountain biking, hiking, and enjoying all that the Boulder, Colorado area has to offer with our black lab pup (Emmi). My degrees include a BS in Aeronautical Engineering from the US Air Force Academy and PhD in Aerospace Engineering from the University of Michigan along with two Master’s degrees.
